Goodwill Industries of Northwest North Carolina is a nonprofit organization that serves the local community by selling donated items to fund employment and training programs that help people find hope, opportunity, and jobs. Each year, Goodwill recycles more than 40 million pounds of unwanted goods through its donated goods operations. As part of their commitment to sustainability, Goodwill has built nine LEED-Certified facilities and are working with PEA on rooftop solar and EV charging solutions.

Second Harvest is the primary food resource for a network of hundreds of food assistance programs across 18 counties in Northwest North Carolina, and plays a crucial role in nourishing our region. PEA helped Second Harvest install one of the largest rooftop solar systems in the state history on their roof, which is not only helping avoid nearly 1M pounds of climate pollution each year but also channeling energy savings back into feeding our community. |

M Creative established and implemented a number of energy efficiency and conservation goals, from converting lighting to LED bulbs, eliminating single-use paper items, installing programmable thermostats, and locally sourcing at least half of their supplies, and have begun to work on a comprehensive sustainability policy to guide future sustainability efforts.
