Green Teens Toolkit: Water

Exploring Water

What impacts daily water? Who protects local water? How can humans conserve and protect the water?

Although planet Earth is made up of about 71% water, only a fraction of that is freshwater that humans can access and use for daily living. When you turn on your faucet, it may seem like a simple act, but that water has gone through an adventure from shifting forms in the water cycle to being filtered at the water treatment plant to make it to your home as clean, safe drinking water. Exploring Water to understand Earth's water systems and evaluate human interactions with water can help you protect and conserve the water that all life depends upon.
