Winter sowing is an option for gardeners who want to grow plants from seeds but lack indoor growing space. Using repurposed containers, seeds can be started outside but still protected from colder winter temperatures. This is a low-cost option for gardeners. The workshop will include information on what plants can be started with this method and how to winter sow. Participants who provide a recycled container will have the opportunity to plant some seeds to take home.
This workshop will be presented by Shirlie Pinkham, an NC State Extension Master Gardener of Forsyth County.
