Tour of Greensboro Science Center With Emphasis on Habitats

This event is organized by N.C. Cooperative Extension Guilford County Center. The Greensboro Science Center is an aquarium, science museum and zoo dedicated to a conservation mission to preserve species and habitats through on-site programs, community awareness, field studies, and fundraising for local and global conservation efforts. Learn what is involved in zoological horticulture – from habitat development and browse plants to exhibit-side hardy tropical edible gardens designed to have their own natural benefits. Topics discussed will be related to toxicology, animal-plant interactions, and touch on unique innovative spaces by working with natural systems and resources for ease of maintenance, conservation, and self-sustaining functional plant communities. The admission fee is $14.50 ($13.50 age 65+) paid at the main entrance to the Science Center. There will be a gathering for a short presentation followed by the tour. The tour is rain or shine so please wear weather appropriate clothing and footwear. The facility is ADA accessible. The event is organized by Chandra Metheny, Horticulture and Grounds Department.
