A: I believe that we should have healthy food subsidies to make food affordable for all families. I also believe that current nutrition messaging can be harmful, by normalizing cultural foods and their own health benefits, that could help too.

A: Avoiding climate change like politicians have been doing only dooms us. There is an imminent threat to human life if we do nothing. By focusing on green union jobs, change the regulatory structure to break Duke Energy’s monopoly by allowing for competition and third party solar sales, and we need an immediate and permanent moratorium on all new fossil fuel infrastructure including fracking.

A: I support allowing third parties to sell solar panels.

A: Building better public transit and multi-use streets has an immediate impact on the physical health of the community members. I will promote urban planning to accommodate the needs of the community and require developers to provide a plan for walkable streets and neighborhoods.

A: In my opinion with my Bachelor of Science in Environmental Health, it is important to regulate and have regulators that are well qualified to monitor. Companies should not be allowed to discharge waste into water systems. Fracking is guaranteed to contaminate water supplies.

A: By coming together across race and class, we can follow the lead of communities directly impacted by injustice to shape real solutions so that North Carolina families can be healthy.

A: Community input must be prioritized. Also, comprehensive rent stabilization must be prioritized so that longtime residents are not forced to relocate and a Tenant Bill of Rights should be introduced.
