The Natue of Oaks

April 20, 2023 - 6:00pm
Hanes House, Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art, 750 Marguerite Dr, Winston-Salem, NC 27106

Wild Ones and SECCA invite you to a presentation from nationally known conservationist, professor and author Doug Tallamy, who will discuss the rich ecology of our most essential trees – the oaks. Oak trees support more species of animals, sequester more carbon, protect our wetlands, and nourish the environment more than other plant genus in North Carolina. They have also provided materials and inspiration for countless artists and creatives. Free, but registration is required.

Wild Ones @ SECCA is a four-part conversation series exploring the relationship between our health and the health of our planet through the written word, sound, and visual art.

Location: Hanes House, Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art, 750 Marguerite Dr, Winston-Salem, NC 27106
