This class is a conversation that examines human relationship to Creation through the lenses of spirituality, science, culture, history, the arts, and current events. The Drawdown class began in October 2018. The Drawdown book, published by Project Drawdown, has been used as the primary text. Based on ongoing research of some 200 scientists, it explores 100 priorities that must be addressed to successfully reverse climate change, from the scientific to technical to agricultural, but also to things we can directly commit to and participate in, such as reducing food waste, improving land use practices (especially our own), educating women, family planning, and adopting a plant-based diet. More recent textual updates, the Drawdown Review and Regeneration, also published by Project Drawdown, have been and will be used to guide the class discussions. Lively conversation, new information from Project Drawdown, audio, video, and occasional guest presenters are all a part of the class framework.
The class is open to everyone, and no prior knowledge is required. Please join us as we share the wondrous experience of exploring where and how we live with this Earth.
