Join a Hanging Rock State Park ranger to see broad-winged hawks and other migrants travel over the Sauratown Mountains. Come learn how to identify raptors in flight and be part of the monitoring of the annual hawk migration. All data collected will be submitted to the Hawk Migration Association of North America's raptor migration database.
The hike to the tower will be a strenuous 2.2 miles, so bring food and water. Binoculars and a spotting scope will be available for participants to use.
This program is limited to 10 participants, so registration is required. Email jonathan.buie@ncparks.gov to sign up.
