Sustainable Design is an approach to designing products, buildings, landscapes, infrastructure and services so that they reduce environmental impacts while supporting human health, comfort and well-being. Design decisions about materials, energy, water, waste, land use, construction, production and user behavior are considered through the lens of ecological sustainability.
During this free webinar, local designers and Green Business Network members Lauren Frye and Mona King will share their distinct approaches to sustainable design. Lauren, founder of design firm Latent Design, focuses on the principle and concept of ‘adaptive reuse. You can see examples of her work at Lesser-Known Beer Co., Camino Bakery, and Lot 63 in Old Salem. Mona, founder and owner of Mona King + Associates Design, explores the intersection of LEED certification and Biophilic Design, an architectural and interior design philosophy that intentionally integrates nature and natural elements into built environments.
This webinar is hosted by PEA’s Green Business Network. Registration is required--you can sign-up here.
