Become an Environmental Educator

We're looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help teach our innovative environmental education programs in Winston-Salem/Forsyth County middle schools.

Who we are: Piedmont Environmental Alliance (PEA) is the local voice for the environment. We educate and inspire, build community, and inspire action to protect and restore the environment. PEA's environmental education programs empower students to become change agents in their homes, schools, and community. We present our environmental education programs-- Energy Explorers and Every Drop Counts-- in more than 75 Title I classrooms each year. These programs teach kids about energy and water conservation while building skills in science, math, leadership, and more!

We're looking for you if you are:

  • Comfortable speaking in front of a 7th or 9th grade classroom with little support from the teacher.
  • Excited to communicate the impact of energy and water use in an innovative and engaging way.
  • Motivated about creating the next generation of environmental leaders and advocates.

Responsibilities:

  • Attend 2-3 training presentations.
  • Deliver presentation in classrooms 2-4 times per month.
