Bike to the Fair
Biking is good for you and good for the planet. Biking is a completely clean form of transportation. The only fuel it burns is your own calories!
If you are interested in biking to the Fair, we recommend studying the route options from your home to the Fair to find the safest route available. Or meet friends at a park and bike from there to the Fair.
Using the free on-line Gmaps Pedometer program, a great tool that allows you to save routes and share them with friends via a web link, we came up with four recommended routes to the Fair. Each route starts from a neighborhood park and is about a 5-6 miles long trip to the Fair.
To the Earth Day Fair from Happy Hill Park
To the Earth Day Fair from Winston Lake Park
To the Earth Day Fair from Miller Park
To the Earth Day Fair from Shaffner Park
You may also start with one of these suggested routes and modify it to find a route you prefer or may include your home.
Bicyclists in North Carolina have the same legal status as motor vehicles. Therefore, bicyclists have full rights to use the roadways and also have the responsibility to follow the laws and operate safely. When bicycling, follow the rules of the road, wear a helmet, and always signal your intentions.
