Vermiculture Workshop - Composting with a Wormbin

Sunday, December 6, 2009 - 1:00pm - 4:00pm

Learn how worms can eat your kitchen scraps, converting your organic waste into compost. Participants receive a plastic worm bin and a half-pound of red wriggler worms - a complete environment to create a nutrient-rich, organic fertilizer and soil conditioner.  The workshop will be held at Temple Emanuel, 201 Oakwood Drive, Winston-Salem, and is limited to 30 people.  Pre-Registration required. The workshop fee is $32, due by Nov 30.

For worm bedding, please bring either a paper bag full of newspaper (no glossy ads) or 30-gallon bag of shredded newspaper / office paper to the workshop.  Brian Rosa, NC Dept of Environment & Natural Resource's Environmental Specialist/Organics Recycling Coordinator, will dig in to the basics of backyard composting.
Experience the process first hand; go home with hard working worms ready to produce for you.
